CONIL Besides the wealth from the sea, Conil also has fertile soil, coupled with higher rainfall than the Costa del Sol over the winter months, the countryside provides an ideal environment for fruit a vegetable cultivation. Most of this local produce can be purchased in the daily market in Conil. Tourism has always been a way for the local families to earn extra money over the summer months. The women rent out rooms and small apartments to Spaniards who descend from all over Spain, especially Madrid and the North West. The peak season is still July and August, however with the vast expanse of beach there always seem to be lots of space. The increas
The three 2 bedroom apartments are situated in a new development of just 8 apartments. Unlike most other apartments in the area they each have their own private roof terrace with great sea views. As well as affording excellent views over the town, the river and the vast expanse of beach that runs towards El Palmar, Caños de Meca and Cape Trafalgar. The Moroccan coast is clearly visible on good days. One of the great attractions is that families or groups of friends can holiday together, yet maintain their own space. Two of the apartments have adjoining roof terraces. ( Tinto and Fino) We also ask our guests to refrain from smoking inside the apartments.
Just
off calle Benavente, if you have a map or are using Google Earth.
More precisely in a new pedestrian alley called calle Miguel
de Unamuno. The apartments are a short walk to the town beach
and also very close to the bridge over the river, giving direct
access to the less populated section of beach leading to El Palmar.
The main tourist area around the Santa Catalina church is also
just a few minutes walk away.
The immediate
area is still very local, with small bars and shops close at
hand. There is an attractive small park in the square next to
the entrance that is well stocked with shrubs and flowers. Unlike
some of the streets nearer the main Paseo Maritimo, this barrio
is normally much quieter at night.
Tinto is
on the first floor above Fino, which is on the raised ground
floor, the layout and interior decoration is pretty identical.
The main difference is Fino has a patio off the main bedroom,
while Tinto has a larger roof terrace.
We think much better than most. The flats are new, only finished early in summer 2006. All the bedrooms have air conditioning units, that double up as heaters in case of a cold spell in winter, double glazing and are well insulated. All flats
have satellite TV. (See individual flats for details) DVD players,
fully equipped kitchens and well appointed bathrooms.
CAR HIRE - Check the on-line car hire offers as they are usually great value, often being cheaper than a Taxi to and from the airport. TAXI - One
of the local registered taxi drivers is a neighbour and offers
a special price for people staying in the apartments. (see note
